Unlike other eating disorders, Binge eating and comfort eating, affects males and females equally.

Although anorexia nervosa is usually associated with teenage girls, some boys are also at risk. In unlikely cases it effects some adults. An eating disorder is usually created and develops from a number of factors in the life of the patient. Anorexia Nervosa, is often a history of abuse or other severe traumas. These situations have made the client feel out of control to some degree. They realise that one thing they can control, is their intake of food, and slowly this becomes an obsession and an escape from the realities of their life, until their once control of food, turns into a very difficult life pattern and can even be life ending.

In some cases a client may go from one eating disorder to another.
We design Psychotherapy/Hypnotherapy sessions to halt eating disorders with the goal of not replacing them with any other detrimental condition.
To identify a person with an eating disorder is the first step, and most likely it has been occurring unnoticed for some time because of the secrecy surrounding it. The patient becomes very good at discretely living this condition. It is crucial to seek help immediately and to begin to identify the underlying psychological and emotional cause which the client is using food to conceal. Psychotherapy is the effective measure to begin to understand the inner beliefs and workings of the client. We help the client to learn new skills and understand their reality, which dieting alone cannot do. Only then, will they fully overcome their situation.
Insomnia is not defined by the number of hours you sleep. The amount of sleep a person needs varies. While most people need between 7 and 8 hours of sleep a night, some people do well with less, and some need more.
Insomnia tends to increase with age and affects about 40 percent of women and 30 percent of men. Research shows that the productivity and efficiency of long term insomnia sufferers can be reduced by as much as 30%.
Hypnosis removes the obstacles to sleep while at the same time inducing brain wave patterns that promote and are conducive to sleep.
When we are awake, our brains are in Beta state. When we fall asleep, our brain waves change from a Beta wave into an Alpha state. The Alpha state is where your body and mind becomes relaxed enough to enter into Delta, which is sleep – and then the Theta state – deep sleep.
The state of hypnosis, or “trance” produces Alpha brain waves. In this state, we are more open to positive suggestions.
Sleep walking is not only disturbing to those around you, but it can be dangerous and sometimes even deadly. Hypnotherapy is the most effective and efficient way to eradicate this unnecessary risk and to create the highest quality sleep.
Your mind controls your body- it shouldn’t be the other way around. Helping the patient to visualise the step by step process of the surgery, so the patient is completely prepared and ready for the procedure, is important for positive pre op mindset as well as post operative rehabilitation. This approach is much more likely to produce a positive outcome. If every step of the way has been acknowledged and accepted then the process is transparent of fear, and the patient generally develops faith in the Doctors knowledge and skills. By learning how to express your fears and by communicating with your Doctor and loved ones, you will be adequately supported. You will be guided to your surgery with care and strength that comes from knowledge, and building faith in your bodies ability to heal.
Studies show that if the patient begins using their positive imagination and focus, then they can benefit and it can strengthen their immune system. A healthy, strong immune system is intrinsic for optimum health. The connection the patient can develop between their mind and their body is fundamental to their overall perspective of positive growth and lifestyle. Any energy they have, could be used to positively heal themselves, and the focus bolstered by hypnotherapy can produce real results. Attitude is important for a healthy mind, which closely correlates with a healthy body. Self esteem and self belief is such a useful tool when it comes to healing and living a happy balanced life; this state of being can be encouraged and created through hypnotherapy.
Where do you get your motivation and inspiration? Did you know that hypnosis is one of the most powerful ways to boost your enthusiasm for life and inspire you to great things?
How can it do this?
When you go into hypnosis, and relax really deeply, you become detached from your ‘everyday mind’ with its fixed patterns and its regular burdens that grind you down. Your mind literally ‘opens up’, ready to receive new insights and create new perspectives.
This enables you to see your whole life, or your current situation, in totally new ways. You’ll learn ways to boost your energy and fire up your creativity and life will never be the same again. You will feel empowered.
As we all know, Headaches can commonly be caused by stress or other emotional factors from our day to day life.
Hypnotherapy is an wondefrul way to remove the stress from your body which in turn eases the headache and giving the headache sufferer some much needed relief and the ability to get back on with their day/life.
A panic attack can overwhelm someone quite unexpectedly. Often a Panic Attack will have a trigger consisting of an emotional state or certain physical or environmental situation. On other occasions a panic attack can happen apparently randomly and without warning. Regardless of the source of the attack or the trigger, the patient will almost certainly feel like they may die, that their life is in danger and they feel so overwhelmed they may sweat, feel cold, shake uncontrollably, shiver, blush, plus many more reactions. They may feel embaressed and annoyed at themselves for having “another attack”.
It is nothing to be ashamed of because there are many people afflicted with the same condition, it is not such a rarity amongst our society. Therefore we have developed sessions which intrinsically helps the client to gain control of their lives again without living in fear of fear itself and panic attacks.
When a person is afflicted with panic attacks they are not acting this way for attention, which is sometimes the opinion of family and friends who may have tired of the continuing condition. They are simply reacting to a link which has formed in the mind between a normal level of stress and responding in a way which has grown to a level which is now unmanageable by the client alone.
